"M.E.S.H. features two mixes of straight-up excellent house music. The Jackmaster Tab mix contains the amazing sampled break that always grabs attentions: "I think we hit orgasm." The squigly electronic fart keyboard/real drum break sounds absolutely amazing - like it's scratching some itch in the brain you never knew you had.
When this record came out, it made a lot of people sit up and take notice. The basic track itself is basic Chicago House, but the melody, message and finally, very clever sampling all add up to a previously unheard-of PSYCHEDELIC version of house music - even more successful at this effect than PTV's own "Tune In (Turn On The Acid House). In 1988, THIS WAS THE SHIT!
The Jackmaster Tab mix is easily available on the Wax Trax! reissue of Jack The Tab/ Tekno Acid Beat, but I believe the LSD-NRG mix is otherwise unavailable."
